What is a multipurpose cooperative society?
A cooperative is a business owned and run by its members. Instead of working alone, farmers join together, pool what they have and share the work, the costs and the rewards.
Multipurpose means ours does more than one thing. Members grow vegetables and spices, raise chickens and farm fish, and the cooperative processes, packs and sells what they produce.
Simplified is the legal form for smaller cooperatives. Members meet at a general meeting to make the big decisions and choose a small committee to run the business day to day.

Each member has one vote at the general meeting, however large their farm.

Selling as one group means bigger orders, steadier buyers and fairer prices than a small farm gets alone.
